This falls used to be called "South Falls", and was called "Great Falls" prior to that. Now called Muskoka Falls, they are difficult to view. A steep trek down a service road allows the best viewing and the trek is worth it. The falls can be spectacular during spring run-off.
Hanna Chute is located above the main falls and can be seen from the main road in the hamlet of Muskoka Falls. Both set of falls are enclosed by hydro generating stations. A swimming and picnic area is located nearby.
Located right before the bridge for Highway 11. Exit at Highway 118, and drive north on the service road. You can see the falls from the road bridge, although the angle is not great for photography.
