An original colonization road, this historical route was once an alternative spring route between Bala and Gravenhurst. Imagine the wagon traffic of bygone times while strolling among the pine and spruce that grow along one of Muskoka's original roads.
Much of this 6 km one-way, moderate trail's surface is solid Muskoka rock and the trail is heavily wooded with pine and spruce. At the west end, the trail crosses a marsh where an elevated causeway provides for dry passage.
Take Hwy 169 from Gravenhurst to North Muldrew Lake Road. Follow North Muldrew Lake Road to the Trailhead…distance to Trailhead is long so keep driving! Roadside parking is available.
