If you answered yes to every one of these questions you are probably living in a mud hut collecting nuts and berries for your meals – the point being that a truely sustainable building is very difficult to achieve. It is important to find a balance of comfort, conscious, and economy, and when you do that, you are as green as you can be.
Going green does not have to be a difficult task but most new cottage builders seem a bit overwhelmed by the idea - I can assure you of that. With all of my clients, I consistently suggest they consider green alternatives or at least more environmentally responsible options. Unfortunately, the truth is that very few are interested. My hope is that more exposure and more knowledge will help ease people – especially cottages, into a more green sense of mind.
